hello + welcome!

Sandra + Kevin had the sweetest NYC wedding this April. We are so happy to have been able to document it all, see all the pretty here:

NYC Wedding and How They Met

Sandra: I received a notification that someone had liked me. His smile was the first thing I noticed. And then I had hoped he was tall, but anyway, he was the first to initiate a conversation. Our similar interests in traveling are what kept us talking for hours at a time (even if it meant getting 3 hours of sleep to go to school in the morning). It wasn’t long until we decided to meet in person to see if we’d have the same feelings.

Their First Date

I invited him to come out with my friends in Rockville Center in NYC. My friends picked the loudest college bar on the island to hang out (Parlay). But still he came, and we couldn’t hear each other at all. Clearly, a great first impression. Still, even after that he kept messaging me and our second date was at a much quieter place with only just us two. After many more dates, it didn’t take long for us to realize that we wanted to be in each other’s lives.

The Proposal

Here’s a little secret: We have been talking about a NYC wedding since our New Year’s trip to Bretton Woods, NH last December. Kevin was sick on New Year’s Eve and we decided that we rather spend time in the hotel room, so Kevin could feel better. Before going to bed, Kevin was talking about how he wanted to marry me. I had shrugged it off as him being delirious from being sick. The next morning he repeated it to me again and so we decided that we would love to marry one another.

Fast forward to June 18, 2019. We’ve been planning a trip to Poland and Norway for months. This was Kevin’s first time in Europe. The first night, we arrived in Sopot, Poland and took a walk down Europe’s longest wooden pier. This pier was special because my Dziadek (grandfather) has a picture on that pier that I love. It was almost midnight and you could still see a hint on sunshine peaking on the horizon. They took a break on a bench from carrying their 30 pound backpacks and he asked if she would be his wife. Soon they were planning a NYC Wedding.

The NYC Wedding

Their wedding started by getting ready in Long Island. After that, they headed to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where they had a traditional Catholic wedding in both English and Polish. It was truly beautiful to watch this ceremony. The colors that they chose were beautiful, bright pastels and we loved everything about it. N.T Designs did such a great job creating beautiful floral arrangements for this spring NYC wedding. We finish the day by taking beautiful pictures at DUMBO, and were so happy when the film scans come back. This intimate NYC wedding was sweet, beautiful, and everything a wedding should be. We hope you love the images!
