NY Public Library Engagement Session

While they are getting married in Texas, they decided to have their session in NYC since it’s where they were engaged and it’s a city they absolutely love. We had so much fun sharing our love for NYC with them and taking them to all our favorite spots. We started with an early morning at the NY Public Library, and then headed to @ralphscoffee for some fuel. After that, we wrapped up the session by giving Justin a much needed tour of Central Park. It was truly the perfect fall day in NYC. They are the sweetest pair and so much fun to work with! We cannot wait for their wedding at the @thehillsideestatetx, and we also can’t wait to be back in NYC in a week. On a side note, even the birds knew the esthetic for this session!

Their Love Story

Amanda and Justin met at Truck Yard in Dallas on St. Patrick’s Day through mutual friends. They sat down next to each other and the rest was history! Talking to him feels easy and like they have known each other their whole lives. After a month of dating he shipped off to basic training for the military and they wrote each other letters every day for 7 weeks. It was such a bonding experience right out the gates of dating, but one that proved how strong they felt for each other!

Justin and Amanda love to try different restaurants/drinks, and you can find them being social most days of the week! Also, they enjoy family and try to spend as much time as they can soaking up any moment they can with them. Amanda is a nightshift nurse and Justin works in defense contracting, so although their schedules don’t always align, they both muster up to energy to find themselves in some sort of social setting!

The Proposal Story

Firstly, Amanda has always had a love for NYC. She has been upwards of 2 dozen times between 2014 to now. For their anniversary this year, Justin had surprised her with a trip to her favorite place. Furthermore, this was the first time they would be going there together as a couple!

First, on they day they landed, they got dressed and started to find some speak-easys. Next, he wanted to do all of the tourist-y things because he had never been. Amanda was more than happy to see again so they started the day! Then, they walked through Time Square at 7 PM to see the lights. As she was seeing out a vendor with “$5 for 2 polaroid pictures”, Justin is trying to move Amanda into the view of their engagement photographer. Finally, she realized what was going on after Justin seemed panicked at me wanting some polaroid pictures, and he got down on one knee and asked.

After the tears and beautiful photos of their engagement, they went to a rooftop bar. There, there were 10 of their best friends waiting to surprise them! Amanda was shocked by the overwhelming love she felt having so many people travel far to be with them on their special day! It was truly magical. This makes their NYC engagement session so much more special.
