Rainy Romantic Weather

This New York Botanical Garden engagement session was everything an engagement session should be. It was fun, romantic, and sweet. As photographers it is the best feeling in the world when one gets clients that are willing to try things and trust the creative process. Ivelisse and Eric were real troopers and trusted us despite the rainy weather. While most times we hope for sun, we couldn’t imagine this session without the rain. It gave it the sweet romantic touch, and made the session feel like a scene from the “NoteBook”. Of course this was also because Ivelise and Eric were so much fun the entire time and truly embraced the moment. We loved their pastel blue and white outfits that really gave a romantic look to this session. Ivelise’s pastel blue long dress was a true statement piece! Adding to this, Make up by April complimented her look by providing picture-perfect make up to really bring Ivelise’s look all together. We are absolutely in love with the dreamy photos all these factors created.

The Couple’s Love Story

We can never have gorgeous sessions without our sweet loving couples that come with their unique love stories. Ivelise and Eric’s love story began in the summer of 2009. They met when they were in high school through Ivelise’s brother, since Eric and him were (and still are) very good friends. Ivelise says, “When I first saw him I immediately thought he was so handsome!  Getting to know Eric was very interesting and exciting because we have so much in common.  We share many of the same values and we compliment each other.  He is so loving and patient.  He makes me laugh, and is the one person who can make me feel at peace.  I am truly lucky to have found my soulmate and I am grateful for the blessing he has been to my life.  Almost 7 years later and I still get butterflies when I see him!”

Adding to this, Eric says, “Getting to know Ivelise was fun and really exciting. I felt a great connection with her because she is so easy to talk to. She is a great listener and always supportive of me. She is my best friend, she is my world. I love her more and more everyday and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.”

Their Christmas Engagement

On November 28, 2015, Eric and Ivelise were decorating Eric’s first Christmas tree, as this was his first Christmas living in his new home. It was a very festive time, with Christmas carols playing while they sipped on wine and decorated. As Ivelise was placing the very last ornament on the tree, she turned around and there was Eric down on one knee. He professed his love for Ivelise and said, “I hope that we can decorate this tree together for the rest of our lives.” We seriously can’t get over how adorable his proposal was!

New York Botanical Garden Engagement: Flowers and More

In addition to having such an awesome, fun-loving couple, the New York Botanical Garden never seizes to provide a dreamy backdrop for an engagement. Even in the rain, this place looked beautiful. As beautiful as the flowers in the backdrop were, the bouquet provided by Earthly Elegance Florals made a perfect compliment to the bride-to-be’s pastel blue dress. The pink and white combination of Anemones, David Austin Roses, and Ranunculus tied together with a beautiful silk blue ribbon was just perfect.
